FAQ that we commonly receive on your journey to boosting your mineral levels and general health
Q: Why is our magnesium spray not called magnesium oil like other brands?
A: All magnesium sprays, even those called oils, don't actually contain any oil. They are commonly called oils as the dissolved magnesium chloride creates an oily feeling to the spray, despite there not being any oil in it. To prevent confusion, we chose not to call it an oil.
Q: What are magnesium flakes?
A: Magnesium flakes are magnesium chloride crystals extracted from ancient seabeds.
Q: Why do we consider magnesium supplementation via the skin to be a superior method of supplementing magnesium, compared to oral supplementation?
A: Magnesium starts absorbing immediately through the skin. It absorbs 5x faster and has much better transdermal absorption compared to oral supplementation. Hair follicles substantially support transdermal magnesium absorption by up to 40% more than skin without hair follicles, which is why we recommend that our convenient JC Botanicals Magnesium Sprays are used on the legs or arms, rather than the feet. Transdermally absorbed magnesium chloride significantly increases magnesium levels in the body.
Q: What is the highest safe dosage of transdermal magnesium?
A: Transdermal use is considered safe with no upper dosage limits for healthy individuals, as excess magnesium is eliminated by the body. Despite this general guideline, each person is different and should consult a doctor before taking supplements.
Q: Why does my skin itch or tingle when starting to use transdermal magnesium sprays?
A: It is estimated that 80% of the world's population has a severe deficiency in magnesium. A tingling or itching sensation upon application indicates cellular deficiency and that your body is desperate for magnesium, the pores of the skin open wide to take in as much magnesium as possible. The itch or tingle subsides as magnesium levels improve, you can use lotion on your skin to minimise the effect.
